- Almond Croissant, Bouchon Bakery, Yountville, California. (Yeah, I know it isn’t really bread, but…)
- Country Loaf, Tartine Bakery, 600 Guerrero Street, San Francisco.
- Amy’s Bread. Multiple locations, New York City. The best bakery I have found in NYC. Very good bread for its high volume! The daily special loaves seem particularly worthwhile.
France
- Miche Poilâne, Poilâne (multiple locations), Paris.
- Pain aux Cereales and Baguette aux Cereales, Eric Kayser (mulitiple locations and name variations), Paris.
Italy
- Pane Cascarrecio di Genzano, Forno a Legna da Sergio, Genzano, Italy (about 20 miles south of Rome). Great day trip from Rome.
